I took this photo in Berkeley Springs, WV. Of course the sentiment is a good one, but what made it worth photographing from my perspective was the aging of the bumper sticker. It's weathered, cracked and split, but the message is still very clear. It made me smile because the bumper sticker had clearly been stuck to the back of that car for a while. Something about it made me believe that this individual had been committed to the power of living a positive life through a journey of some length.
During my life, I've found that you don't have to put forth effort to find negativity. Life is tough and has tons of bumps, hurdles and even the occasional boulder that can really weigh you down. A step back from any situation can illuminate how our experiences are confined by the limited perspectives we use to interpret them. A new perspective can be so refreshing, invigorating and motivating! Next time you are in a situation where someone is in a negative place or you feel yourself getting into your own negative place, take a deep breath, smile and shine some understanding, non-judgmental positivity into the situation.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. I hope you and yours have a wonderful day, joy filled holiday season and great end of 2010. This time of year makes me realize how many, many things I am grateful for in my life. May your life be filled with many blessings!
Hi all! I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying this beautiful Fall weather. I've been a busy person of recent, but was able to clear some time to spend a lovely weekend in the country and to savor a weekend stroll in the park with my pooch to enjoy the cool weather and colorful leaves. I also have an exciting Fall photo session planned on 13 acres of gorgeous property - inclusive of stone ruins. I'm super excited!! I hope you've been able to take some time to enjoy the transition into Fall too.
In the meantime, I want to share some images from a fabulous photo session I did earlier this year with a multi-talented, fun and fashionable friend. Enjoy!
This weekend I met the newest addition to my friend's lovely family. At eight days old this baby boy has mastered snuggling. I managed to capture a few images when not taking full advantage of the opportunity to soak up newborn baby snuggles.
I had the absolute pleasure of launching Mother's Day weekend with a sweet mother and son photo session. After forecasts of high winds and thunderstorms, we were graced with fabulous weather for our morning in the park. Hanging with mommies and kiddos is very close to the top of my list and these two are pretty awesome. We spent the morning blowing bubbles, drawing with sidewalk chalk, reading story books, counting spiders and enjoying waterfalls. It was all capped off with smoothies and cupcakes. Does life get much better? Here are some of the snuggles and fun...
